NINE YARDS - a short history lesson
David and Robert first started playing in a band together in 1998 as part of a 4 piece band 'plasonic'................they sucked!
This band broke up due to the afore mentioned suckingness, in october 1999 after their first real gig. Which was the Jersey Farm Hotel. This place also sucks.
So as you may have noticed, most of our early career sucked.
Since the splitting Robert and David have gone under 2 different names - the Muff Monkeys and Nine Yards. They have also had two drummers. The first one being Rob Yeadon, borrowed from local super group Graham the Turtle for a single recording for a locally produced compilation album, 'EXIT' and the current drummer, Michael Freeman, stolen from even more super group KEF.
We have done several low key gigs in 2000, and are planning to play some larger outdoor gigs in the summer around Barnard Castle.
THE KOALA:
Maybe you are wondering about the koala. The koala is the band's lucky mascot and also provides pre-gig rugby-type entertainment for the roadies (see photos). We normally stuff it in the P.A. gear somewhere.
